SouthernLoops Fly Fishing travel service - Patagonia Argentina.

While Argentina puts our heart health to the test in the World Cup, here is our epic tour recap.

Dear Friends,

Greetings from the Southern Loops Flyfishing team in San Martín de los Andes Patagonia, Argentina!

It has already been nearly a month since Erica and I returned from our promotional tour to the United States —a massive milestone for us, as it was our first time ever setting foot in the U.S.!-

I am actually sitting down to write this newsletter while the US is packed with passionate Argentine fans cheering for the World Cup and Argentina is putting our heart health to the test in each game, but I wanted to take a quick breather from the screen to look back at our incredible journey.

We first visited Bend and Sisters, Oregon. Besides seeing old friends and making new ones, we were able to fish some amazing rivers and lakes guided by our great friend Jeff Perin, owner at The Fly Fishers Place (@theflyfishersplace), one of our premier booking agents.

During our stay in Oregon, Jeff organized a well attended presentation at the Sisters' library, a fun pizza night for his birthday -meeting old friends who fished with us in Patagonia-, and an Argentine style dinner at Ted & Abby Buckley’s Riverview Lavender Farm (@riverview_lavender_farm). We are so excited and grateful that old friends and new ones were so responsive to all these events!

We also got some time to experience some iconic American spots like Costco, Best Buy, REI, Columbia, and Birkenstock for the first time! So much fun!!

Our next stop was Colorado where we visited several areas north and south of Denver, driving around 737 miles! Throughout our route, we were warmly welcomed by several fly shops who showed a great interest in fishing Patagonia with us. Although we did not have time to fish in Colorado, we put together a presentation at Peak Fly Shop (@thepeakflyshop) in Colorado Springs where our good friends Brad and Sherry arranged a nice event for us to share our story with a packed, enthusiastic audience.

After a whirlwind tour, we returned home to our children, Emilia (7) and Ciro (10). They were so happy to see us and the gifts we brought them from the U.S. The first thing they wanted to do was to go fishing with us! So before I knew it, I was rowing the boat for Ciro to catch some of the last rainbows of the season. Proud of this boy!

We are so grateful for the many people who helped us and made our trip so special, sharing their time, home, food, shops and tons of great fishing knowledge: Jeff Perin, Charlotte & Dan, Abby & Ted, Tim & Katherine Rajeff, Rick & family, Brad & Sherry Tomlinson. To each of you THANK YOU for being so helpful and making us feel like at home.

Summer in Argentina is the perfect time to get away from the cold northern winter. SouthernLoops Fly Fishing reflects the genuine warmth of our family. We strive to provide a home away from home and a seamless flow to every journey, fostering lifelong friendships with each of our guests.

We still have some openings in December 2026, and January, February, March and early April 2027.

Please email us for more information at [email protected], or call / WhatsApp us at at (+54) 911 5504 0870.

Let’s cross Patagonia off your bucket list together. Our family is waiting for you.

Warmly,
Esteban Urban & Erica De Araujo
